I was one of the Titanic survivors! by Brindha

16/04/1912

Dear editor of The Truth Newspaper,
My name is Brindha and I am 14 years old. I am one of the survivors of Titanic. In the night of 14th April, the moon was shining and beautiful. People were dancing in the big rrom and others were talking and laughing around the bar.
Suddenly the boat crushed into an iceberg. Everybody was panicking. They were all so scared. The ship personnel started evacuating all the women and children. I've never seen such panic in my life before.
My mum and I were put into the first small boat. Shortly after some more women and children were put into boats, the ship sank. The water was very cold. Many people died because they were frozen in the water.
If some of the boats came back, they could have saved more people but none of us turned back.
We are safe now but I feel very sorry for the large number of deads.

Thanks for reading my letter..
Yours faithfully
Brindha G.

Dear mum,

It was a very cold night. Someone knocked my room's door. He told me that the ship was going down. I was very scared, then I followed the man. When I went out, I saw the horrible chaos. They told me to jump into a boat quickly but then I asked what about the rest of the people. They told me that there were no more boats I felt very sorry for them. Some people were jumping out of the ship and screaming.
It was terrible...
I thank God that I am alive, I was so lucky!

See you soon

Dear mum,
I was very scared when we crushed into an iceberg. People were yelling for help. I didn't know what to do. I and my aunt jumped into a boat with another 20 people. They only allowed women and children to escape by boats.
I am glad that I survived but many died. We are coming home tomorrow.

Lots of love
Your son

Dear dad,
I never imagine that Titanic would have such an impact in my life! I was in Titanic but thank God that I am still alive. I am alive but I think it would have been better if I died because it's killing me how the rest of the people screamed and asked for help. These screams are still in my mind. I couldn't do anything about it. I couldn't help them. I don't know how I will live like this.
I can't remember a lot of things because everything went so fast! However, there is something I can't forget about is when I heard a loud noise and the ship moved. Then I heard that the ship was going down. At that moment I couldn't move, I couldn't react. I was shocked until a boy came to me. He held my hand and said:
" You need to go with the other women and children into the boats otherwise you will die." So, he took me to the deck where everybody was panicking to get into the boats. I realised that he couldn't come with me because he wasn't a child or a woman. I told him that I couldn't leave him but it was too late. I was put in one of the boats.
We started to sail away from the ship. We watched when Titanic sank into the ocean with all the others still inside it. I will never forget that boy who saved my life!

Lots of love
Aisha

Dear friends,
I survived and I am so lucky! Our ship crushed into an ice-berg. I was really scared because the ship was sinking. Everyone was scared and they were screaming.
A man came to me and told me that I had to jump on the boat because I had to survive.
He pushed me into the boat but I didn't want to leave him behind because he was so kind to me.

Finally, I am coming home!
